Hello BG Neighbors 👋

Bowling Green keeps growing — and this week shows it in a few different ways.
There’s a $6.4 million investment bringing new jobs to town, a city debate that could affect drivers across BG, and a full lineup of events happening over the next seven days. Some of it is momentum. Some of it is conversation. All of it shapes what life looks like here.
And if you’re just here to figure out what’s going on this weekend — we’ve got that covered too.
Let’s get into it.
🛻 Local Debate Ignites Over Proposed Towing Fee Caps in Bowling Green

Source: BG Daily News
A local policy change with broad impact for drivers, property owners and towing companies is stirring debate in Bowling Green — and may even spark a legal challenge.
City leaders have been discussing lowering the maximum fees that towing companies can charge when they remove vehicles from private parking lots. Under the current ordinance, towing operators may charge up to $175 for retrieving a towed vehicle and $100 to remove a boot; officials have floated proposals that would cap both at around $50 and eliminate the after-hours fee entirely. The idea behind the change is to protect consumers from high charges and reduce complaints connected to private-lot towing.
But not everyone is on board. Attorneys representing Fountain Square Towing — a long-standing local operator — argue the proposal amounts to an attempt to target a specific business and could face a court challenge. Critics say lowering fees that dramatically could make it difficult for towing companies to cover their costs, especially for after-hours work.
Meanwhile, some towing operators are receptive to the idea, saying more predictable and reasonable fee limits could benefit the community and create fairer standards. Because no ordinance has been passed yet, city officials plan to continue reviewing and refining the proposal in upcoming commission meetings, with public input and possible revisions expected before any final vote.
For everyday drivers and property owners, the outcome could change what you pay — and how disputes over private-lot tows are handled. That’s why this conversation has gained traction beyond council chambers and onto social media and local discussion groups.

💼 Business Update:
ValorFlex Announces New Corporate Headquarters in Bowling Green
We love spotlighting local businesses doing cool things or new businesses on there way to BG — this one is worth knowing about.
“Bowling Green just landed a significant business win.”

ValorFlex Holdings of Kentucky has announced it will establish its new corporate headquarters here in Warren County, bringing a $6.4 million investment and creating 25 full-time, high-wage jobs. The veteran-owned advanced manufacturing company has already been operating locally, but this move solidifies Bowling Green as the central hub for its growing operations.
Company leadership cited the region’s skilled workforce, strategic location, and strong infrastructure as major factors in the decision. For a manufacturing-focused company, proximity to transportation corridors and access to trained labor aren’t just perks — they’re essential. Choosing Bowling Green for a headquarters signals long-term commitment, not just temporary expansion.
Local officials say the move reinforces Bowling Green’s continued rise as a center for advanced manufacturing and innovation. While restaurants and retail get attention (for good reason), it’s announcements like this that quietly shape the economic foundation of the city — higher-paying jobs, corporate presence, and investment that compounds over time.
For residents, the impact may not be flashy. But it’s meaningful. More headquarters-level roles means more leadership positions, more professional opportunities, and more economic stability anchored here instead of elsewhere.
Bowling Green continues to grow — and stories like this show it’s not just outward growth, but upward growth.
